The state of art

--- I wonder if the trend towards less perfect less perfectionism and a more sort of raw direct and human art paint strokes and mistakes evident and all that and more expressive maybe this me wanting feeling like one do more expressive painting more force for more masculine it's sort of its reflected for what's going on in these sort of interval period and a period of expressionism in the previous century and it does make you wonder if it's related to the thing in a more combustible more strung out perhaps more of a pre-world society or a society that's feeling a little bit more on edge that it was previously something like that less polished -- a more muscular art

DANIEL ROSS ARTIST/ARTIST STATEMENT

spacetime geometry or fabric of the reality or cosmic fabric or whatever you call it --- I'm painting detailed movement flow patterns  --+ Perhaps it's better to think of painting in art not as portraying reality but it's portraying the patterns and the truth underlying reality not saying paint abstractly or figuratively even I'm seeing it needs to be truthful and condensed in the same way that meths are miffs container condensed version of reality but they're not in a sense if you look at the literally reality than themselves sometimes like if you took it outside and look at the myth compared to what happened is a real life story they don't follow that pattern perfectly the painting doesn't need to follow the pattern perfectly it needs to explain the pattern --- just approach my flying birds or flight series or whatever I'm doing on these Square paintings and just look at it like I'm not even doing bird painting I'm going to sell it to a differe...

HOW THE SEA BURST FORTH INTO CONSCIOUSNESS

The artist as having the creators Spirit  --- The Key Passage: Exodus 31:1–5 In this passage, God is speaking to Moses about the construction of the Tabernacle (a portable earthly dwelling for the divine). "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri... and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.'" --- This passage is a favorite among theologians and creatives for a few reasons: Divine Empowerment: It suggests that the ability to create beauty, solve design problems, and master a craft is a spiritual gift, not just a hobby or a manual labor task. The "Imago Dei": Since the Bible opens with God creating the universe, many believe that when humans create, they are reflecting the "image of God" (Imago Dei). By cr...

Seascapes as meditations

My 1.1 format (Square) seascapes as meditations  --- The Square as the most abstract composition, aside from the circle or perhaps an oval shape perhaps the most suitable space to represent a meditation space, a center of agentic focus and a concentration of focus on the energy moving at the center would be the square, it's interesting Instagram chose this as their format, it's not self evident as a choice, traditionally the window shape has been the choice of artists, vertical for portraits, horizontal for landscape, loosely speaking. --- The Square is a court yard, a campfire, it is an arena of sorts, it must have balance. --- There is something to rolling with the storm sometimes w meditation, to let it pass through, let the waves crash through. --- The wave is the motion and the animated shape of the spirit cascading though space & time. --- the transformative potential of "serious play" and "dialogos" in reconstructing a coherent engagement with rea...

The man is the Sun the woman is the moon The sun has a 24-hour cycle so does the city man the moon has a 28 day cycle so do women  The sun is shining outwards it is bright it dominates the space, but without something to reflect that light back has no Sense that it is the sun The moon reflects, it takes light inwards it is the night but it reflects back the sun and without the sun it is invisible It is not seen without the sun  The male sex organs are outwards the female ones are inwards  The sun gives the Earth receives

MY ARTIST STATEMENT /SEASCAPES BY DANIEL

I think for me painting the sea always happened at transition points, particularly when I moved somewhere new, I can cite numerous examples in hindsight of when I painted or photographed the sea shortly upon or after shifting house. I seem to have always come and gone subject wise to and from the sea depending on some internal metric of stability and growing acquaintance with the newness of my surroundings then I'd drift off to other things. My practice of yoga & meditation also reinforced a growing idea or set of of concerning depicting the internal ocean of which the real thing generally serves as effective metaphor. --- The origins of serious play can be traced back to the Upper Paleolithic Transition (circa 40,000 BCE) and the emergence of shamanism. Shamanism involved "disruptive intentional practices" designed to break through standard frames of perception. A shaman would engage in "participatory knowing" by "becoming" another creature—such a...

The Agentic Spirit

Image
There is clearly spirit within and spirit outside, in the bible Jesus it is described that we have Jesus inside us, We are concurrently in/within Jesus & that Jesus is in God. Spirit seems to have different forms. Our souls as an entity, a form if you like appear to be animated in essence by spirit, perhaps in fact they are spirit themselves, and we are indeed on a certain level all parts of the whole, yet each part, each allocated soul seems to also have its own animating and agentic nature, there are obviously many rings to peeling this onion. --- During my trips on truffles I noticed these kinds of interweaving forms, like spirit dancing/entangling, meshing and remeshing-/I kind of think I'm watching consciousness in motion perhaps, like the desktop of consciousness, or perhaps no, more like the machinations of it --- Sometimes I can see the thought forms in my mind, see the thought almost, abstractly, the form, the look of it, a depressed mass today, one could say an anim...
